Game Overview: Battle Royale

Battle Royale is a fast paced live game mode where players compete in head to head battles. Answer questions faster than your opponent to protect your Energy and eliminate the competition. The player or team with the most Energy remaining at the end of the game wins.

Battle Royale can be played in Solo or Live (+Teams) mode.

How to Play

Players are matched against an opponent for a series of battles.

For each battle:

1. Both sides receive the same question at the same time.
2. Answer the question as quickly and accurately as you can.
3. The winner keeps their Energy.
4. The loser loses one Energy.

Then it's on to the next battle.

Energy

Every player or team starts with a set amount of Energy.

By default, each player starts with 5 Energy, but the host can choose 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 before the game begins.

Each time you win a battle, you keep your energy. When you lose a battle, you lose one Energy.

Winning the Game

When the game ends, the player or team with the most remaining Energy wins.

If your Energy reaches zero before the game ends, stay in the game and keep answering questions. 

While you can no longer win battles, you can continue participating and see how many players you would have beat.

Solo and Teams

Live games of Battle Royale can be played in two ways.

Solo

Each player faces one opponent at a time.

If only one player answers correctly, they win the battle. If both players answer correctly, the faster response wins.

Teams

Players are divided into teams and battle another team.

Every player answers the same question. The team with the most correct answers wins the battle. If both teams answer the same number of questions correctly, the team with the faster average response time wins.

Team Settings

When hosting a Team game, you'll organize teams before the game begins.

Choose the number of teams you'd like for the game based on your class size and the type of competition you want to create.

Shuffle the teams to instantly randomize player assignments and create fresh matchups.

Swap players between teams to balance skill levels, group friends together, or make any last minute adjustments before the game begins.

Remove players from the game before it starts by selecting Kick and choosing the player you'd like to remove.

As you make changes, students will see their updated team assignments in real time on their own devices.

Team Results

Throughout the game, the host screen displays the overall team standings, while players can see both their individual performance and their team's progress.

At the end of the game, the winning team is announced, and the game report includes both team results and individual player performance, making it easy to review how everyone contributed to their team's success.

Hosting Battle Royale

To host Battle Royale:

1. Select a Question Set.
2. Click Host.
3. Choose Battle Royale from the list of live game modes.
4. Choose Solo or Teams as the Match Type.
5. Choose the Starting Energy per Player/Team.
6. Select Random or Ordered question ordering.
7. Adjust any additional game settings.
8. Share the Game ID, QR Code, or join link with your players.
9. Click Host Now to begin.
