Host a Live Blooket game to review a Question Set with students or other players. Each player uses their own device to answer questions and play, while the host controls the game from a shared screen.
Before you begin, you will need:
- A computer with an internet connection
- A Blooket account
- A Question Set
- At least one player with an internet-connected device
Note: Players do not need an account to participate in Live Games.
Choose a Question Set and Game Mode
Find and Review a Question Set
- Log in to your account at Blooket.com.
- Select My Sets to use one of your Question Sets, or select Discover to find a public set.
- Select a Question Set to open its preview page.
- Select Show Answers to review the questions and answers before hosting.
- Select Host.
Choose a Game Mode
Review the available Live game modes and select one that fits your group and activity. Select a game mode to view its description, player recommendations, and other details.
After choosing a game mode, select Host to open its settings.
Note: Available game modes may depend on your account, and some Blooket games support only Solo or Homework play.
Adjust the Host Settings
Choose how the game will end, then review the additional settings for the selected game mode.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Time | The game ends after the selected amount of time has elapsed. |
| Goal | The game ends when a player reaches the selected score goal (Gold in this example). |
| Show Answer Correctness | Reveals the correct answer after the player answers incorrectly. |
| Time Penalty for Incorrects | Sets time penalty (in seconds) the players must wait after an incorrect answer before the next question can be answered. |
| Question Ordering | Controls how questions are presented during the game: Random shuffles questions Ordered follows the Question Set order Mastery surfaces questions answered incorrectly more often |
| Allow Late Joining | Allows players to join after the game has already begun. |
| Use Random Names | Generates random names for players. Leaving this setting disabled will allow students to enter their own names. Tip: We suggest that students use their initials or first names to make after game reports more helpful. |
| Mute Player Sounds | Mutes gameplay sound effects for all players. Additional Settings are available for players during the game. |
| Allow Student Accounts | Disabling this option will hide account creation options from students (enabled is recommended). |
| Banned Blooks | Prevents players from using host-selected Blooks during the game. |
| Reset to Defaults | Restores all settings to their default values. |
When the settings are ready, select Host Now.
Invite Players and Start the Game
Display the host screen where the group can see it. For an in-person class, use a projector or other large display. For a virtual class, share the host screen through your meeting platform.
The lobby includes controls for full-screen display and music, along with several ways for players to join.
Players can join by:
- Visiting play.blooket.com and entering the Game ID
- Scanning the QR Code with a compatible device
- Opening the Join Link shared by the host
Players enter or receive a name and choose a Blook while waiting in the lobby. When everyone is ready, select Start.
