Schools may choose to limit certain Blooket features on student devices while still allowing teachers to host games, assign homework, and manage classroom activities.
This article explains which routes can be blocked and how schools typically configure access for students and staff.
Note: Every school's network configuration is different. Please consult with your IT staff to configure your rules according to your specific needs. Blooket does not offer management tools at this time.
Why Restrict Certain Features?
Some schools prefer to prevent students from:
- Hosting their own live games
- Playing Solo modes during class time
- Creating and assigning homework to themselves
By restricting these features, students can still participate in teacher-led activities while reducing opportunities for misuse.
Teacher Access Requirements
Teachers must retain access to the following routes in order to use Blooket normally:
blooket.com/hostblooket.com/assign-
blooket.com/solo(if they wish to test or preview Solo experiences)
Many schools accomplish this by creating separate filtering rules for:
- Student devices
- Staff devices
- Teacher accounts
This allows teachers to continue using all Blooket features while restricting access for students.
Optional Routes to Block for Students
Schools can use their web filtering or content management tools to block the following URLs on student devices:
| Route | Purpose |
|---|---|
| blooket.com/host | Prevents students from hosting live games |
| blooket.com/solo | Prevents students from accessing Solo mode |
| blooket.com/assign | Prevents students from creating homework assignments |
What Happens When These Routes Are Blocked?
If all three routes are blocked, students will not be able to:
- Host live games
- Play Solo modes
- Create homework assignments
Students will still be able to access teacher-led activities and participate in games when invited.
How Students Can Still Join Games
Students do not need a Blooket account to participate in games.
They can join using:
Live Games

- Enter the Game ID provided by their teacher
- Join the game
Homework Assignments
- Open the homework link or scan the QR Code provided by their teacher
- Follow the instructions to begin the assignment
