Cyber Hack is a live game mode where players answer questions to earn Credits, unlock special rewards, and hack into other players' systems to steal their Credits. Success depends on answering questions correctly, remembering passwords, and choosing the right time to target your opponents.
| Difficulty | Normal | |
| Skills | Memory & Speed | |
| Ideal Time | 7+ min | |
| Questions | Normal Frequency Self-Paced Prompting | |
| Players | Minimum: 1 Ideal: 8+ Max: 60 (free) / 300 (plus) |
Cyber Hack combines memory and speed, making every question an opportunity to strengthen your position or break through someone else's defenses.
How to Play
Before the game begins, each player selects one of several passwords to protect their Credits.
As you answer questions correctly, you'll earn opportunities to gain Credits, multiply your earnings, or hack another player.
The player with the most Credits when the game ends wins.
Answering Questions
Questions appear in a terminal themed interface to match the game's cyber style.
Note: If you prefer a simpler question screen, open the Settings menu using the gear icon and enable High Contrast Mode.
Every correct answer gives you the opportunity to reveal a reward that can help you build your lead or challenge another player.
Rewards
After each correct answer, you'll choose one of three hidden rewards.
Possible rewards include:
| Reward | Effect |
|---|---|
| Credits | Increase your total Credits. |
| Credit Multipliers | Multiply your current Credits. |
| Hack Opportunity | Attempt to hack another player and steal some of their Credits. |
Every correct answer presents a new opportunity to increase your Credits directly or hack another player to steal their credits.
Hacking Other Players
When you uncover a Hack, you'll be presented with a player name and 3 possible passwords. Only one password is correct.
To successfully hack them, you'll need to correctly guess the password they selected at the beginning of the game.
If your guess is correct, you'll steal some of their Credits.
If your guess is incorrect, you'll eliminate one possible password for that player (if you can remember it), making future hacking attempts a little easier. Remembering previous guesses and recognizing patterns becomes more valuable as the game progresses.
Recovering from a Hack
If another player successfully hacks you, you'll temporarily need to secure your system before returning to the game by completing a task.
Recovery challenges may include cybersecurity themed tasks such as:
- Repairing your system
- Restoring deleted files
- Reconnecting network cables
- Other security themed mini challenges
Once the challenge is complete, you'll jump back into the game and continue earning Credits.
Strategy
Cyber Hack rewards more than just answering questions quickly.
Because every player keeps the same password throughout the game, paying attention to previous hacking attempts can help you eliminate incorrect choices and improve your chances of a successful hack later.
